In five short plays Richard Harris explores the phenomenon of hospital visiting.
"Plaster" sees a wife visiting a husband whose road accident was perhaps not the result of totally innocent circumstances.
Pauline's visit in "Keeping Mum" is perhaps less about Mum and more about memory and loneliness.
In "Showbusiness" the visitors are more interested in a news scoop than they are in the health of the patient.
"Waiting" sees an old man recalling his boyhood and ultimately returning to his infancy.
In "Magic" we see visitors whose principal interest seems to be in putting on a show.
Throughout the piece Harris eplores the situation and the characters with great sensitivity and good humour.
There is a great deal to laugh at and perhaps shed a tear or two.
